My most loved fashion items from September 2017.
Last month I launched my Monthly Edit, a new series on the blog where I document my fashion favorites from the previous month. Today, I’m thrilled to share the second installment in the series, my September 2017 Edit!
1. The Baker Boy Cap
This purple baker boy cap belonged to my aunt. She gave it to me when I was a child, so for many years, it was too big for me to wear. Recently, I rediscovered this hat in a box of my old clothes and accessories. Prada featured extravagant baker boy hats in their February runway show, so this style is having a major moment right now. I haven’t seen any purple ones yet, so I love that this cap feels unique to me. Worn with a mock neck top and ruffles, baker boy caps look exceptionally chic!
2. The Indie Printed Kimono
I picked up this indie printed kimono from Love Culture for a client’s photoshoot. I loved how it looked on the model so much that I added it to my own wardrobe! I’m obsessed with the print, which resembles an eclectic mix of bandannas sewn together. The overall length isn’t too short, but the sleeve is just short enough to showcase the fringe detail on this dress!
3. The Candy-Colored Hoop Earrings
I never know when something odd or unique will be perfect for an editorial, so I always keep an eye out for bizarre fashion pieces. I saw these candy-colored hoop earrings at Love Culture, and snagged them on impulse for that exact reason! The bead colors are so fun, I couldn’t resist taking them for a spin on myself. Considering how wild these earrings are, I knew they could easily look tacky. Worn with solid blue, a red lip, and high ponytail, these wide hoop earrings are tastefully playful!
4. The White Boots
White boots were super trendy over summer. Everyone from Gigi and Bella Hadid to Kendall Jenner were wearing them! Since black boots are rather predictable, why not add white boots to your fall/winter shoe rotation? Paired with tailored pants or mini dresses, these white boots add a mod, 60’s feel to your outfit. The only drawback to white boots is that they show dirt and marks quite easily. Keep some shoe scuff cover in your closet to remove any mishaps at the end of the day! 🙂
5. The Opal Ring
My uncle mailed this ring to me as a ‘late graduation present’. Although I graduated back in May, I still appreciate the thought. My uncle told me he fought an eBay bidding war for this ring, so it’s quite a big deal that it’s finally on my finger, haha! 😉 I have very few silver rings, and certainly none with a turquoise opal stone as beautiful as this one. I was thrilled to add it to my ring collection, and I know it’ll look just as good in a stack as it does alone!
